We’ve been there… as former operations, business and project leaders we’ve been in similar shoes, battling it out to try and get a team to work well together.

As consultants we’ve beaten people around the head with spreadsheets, brown paper, procedures and documents, we’ve watched people’s eyes glaze over and wondered which piece of the “more of the same” we should do next.

We don’t want you to have to go through this any longer!

So we built the OpsKit App.

So, what makes OpsKit different?

It’s Simple! We’ve used modern software woven together with AI to build a DIY MOS toolkit that’s more affordable, more useable and more sustainable. It gets you ahead of the curve because it objectively describes what good looks like and helps you diagnose your site against this standard. This helps you find the gaps so your team can start to plug them. It then uses some clever psychological techniques, learnt from social media and apps like DuoLingo to nudge everyone who uses it into the Rhythms and Routines you want them to follow when you’re not watching.

This gets your team on the same page, coaching and helping each other to get better at getting better without costing the earth or distracting them from their day jobs. There is “freedom in the framework” so your team can find ways to do more with less, helping your own people feel central to their own progress.

This has been a breath of fresh air for leaders who all want to get better but hate being told what to do.

Simple Tools that Move the Needle On Operations

Doctor MOS

Dr MOS helps you assess and then improve the health of your MOS (or similar management system). This helps your team understand MOS and then set up the tools, rhythms and routines they need to rapidly and sustainably improve results.

The app is built on what we call the Table of MOS Elements that go through the typical plan, do, check, act cycle from Quarterly planning through to Handovers, Prestarts, Shift plans and Short Interval Control then back up to Reporting, Analysis and your various Review meetings.

Each MOS element is made up of a Key Question that when answered delivers an Outcome, we then provide a short description of what the element is, show some photos of what good looks like and give examples of the information and tools used to get that information. Finally the Element’s maturity is assessed through rating it against no more than 10 objective questions.

This data is analyzed and the maturity of each element is shown in the table of elements to give you an overview of which elements are healthy and which are not. You can see how maturity is trending over time and drill into each element to track its progress and see where to focus improvement efforts to get better at better.

Action Jackson

Action Jackson is an easy to use action tracking tool that collects all your actions so that improvements get delivered and problems go away. The power of a good MOS or performance learning system lies in visibly capturing and completing actions, Action Jackson makes this easy.

Over the years our team have built so many action capturing whiteboards and spreadsheets it almost brings me to tears. Whilst these tools are simple and easy to get going, the behaviour of capturing actions and closing them out is too important to the health of the MOS and the way a team improves to leave in such old fashioned tools. So we built a very simple and easy to use Action Tracking system into the OpsKit App.

We recommend someone is assigned to capture actions on a computer or tablet during each meeting and that these actions are displayed on a screen so that they can be reviewed and closed out at the end of each meeting. Action Jackson makes this easy. Use it, your results will improve almost straight away as your team and Action Jackson team up to beat the causes of variance that destroy your performance and you get better at better.

Answer Fox

Answer Fox is an AI tool, similar to ChatGPT, but trained on your documentation, to ensure your people can always find answers to their questions with no crazy hallucinating.

This sharp but easy to use tool puts the collective expertise of all your documentation, processes and procedures into everyone’s pocket through an easy to use Chat tool, similar to ChatGPT but restricted to the the information you want them to know. Having sat through many site inductions and been forced to read through large amounts of SOPs in the vain hope that I would retain some of the dense content and then know what to do with it, I have always been surprised by the belief that these documents are understood and remembered by the team.

Answer Fox absorbs all of this content and then using state of the art AI models, learns to answer questions and suggest solutions to the problems your team needs to solve. This helps everyone have access to every SOP or training document so your team can fox out better answers then follow the processes and procedures you have written, particularly when they have been updated or improved, get better at better.
